Help! How do I measure my dog for a Harness?
While your dog is standing, measure your dog's girth, completely around his
or her ribcage and over the back. Take your measurement an inch or more behind
the front legs. How far behind the legs you measure depends on the size of the
dog. For a Jack Russell, an inch would be fine, for a Greyhound, you would measure
three or four inches behind the front leg. This girth measurement will correspond
directly to the size of the harness. If the measurement is larger than the stated
harness size, your dog will need the next size larger.
For example, if your dog has a 10 1/2 " girth, the correct fit will be
a 12" harness. If the dog measures 14 3/4" the 16" harness will
